rare groove basically is what it say...rare imports of 70s
funk/soul/urban records that never really got a decent
release over here...the rarer and more obscure the record
the better..

It was interesting cause it unearthed so many classics that
would never have seen the light of day otherwise...got a bit
silly in the end with prices & people getting a bit
elitest/purist etc & not just enjoying the music.... (PWL
created RoadBlock as a pisstake of the rare groove scene and
everyone fell for it...thinking it as some obscure
release...)...

I thought rare groove was a term listened to theimported
music in mid to late 80's in London before House blew up...I
think a main person in the movement over here was Jazzy Jay
