okay I am at the isness..microsite...and I dont like the
look and sound of what I see...colliding kalidoscopes..hippy
headgear..this is looking an aweful lot like a Boreds of
Canada cashin strategic reinvention...

please tell me it aint so...not the band responsible for the
dark materpiece..Dead Cities...

the new stuff sounds nothing like boc.
it's not nearly as good, but it also just sounds nothing
like boc.
if you like crappy new age music, then maybe you'll like
this. if you liked isdn and dead cities, you may be a bit
dissapointed.

There was a couple topics about this, one that Zeus started
and pne that I started and we both (Zeus and I) said that we
think it's really good.

So yeah. I think it's nice.

You have to kind of look at it differently. If you look at
it as 'this was made by the same two guys that pieced
together Dead Cities and ISDN' well no, you're probably not
going to like it.

But if you just put away the names and categories and
labels, and decide whether or not the MUSIC is something
you're into, you can have a more honest evaluation of the
album.

It is very different than anything they've done previously.

i agree. i've evaluated it, and its not something i'm into.
in fact, i'm dissapointed with it.

i'm hoping they'll make another album more in line with the
progressions they were making with isdn and dead cities.
i'd like something different, just not the isness.

it was years ago i bought them, and sold them,i just didnt
like isdn, maybe i would change my mind now if i listened to
it,dead cities was better i didnt own this one[it has been
years],so what was that 2 cd album then?that was the best
one i heard, ambient,a little dull though.
papua new guinea is still the best thing they`ve released
imo.

I guess I havent heard "new" stuff. But I have almost all
their older stuff... lots of of, tons of singles and albums.
FSOL is pretty neat stuff.

you'd do well to search the word "isness" on the board for
more opinions, core

Yeah, they're fuckin' oldies-goldies (would they be glad to
hear it? i wonder)

dead cities absolutely kick the llamas ass!

"I have killed a man. A man who looked like me." Weird.

Translations is such a good album.

Oh, and don't forget the song 'landmass' off Wipeout XL.

That might be my favorite fsol song to date.
