start near the end and he screams to finish things off. Im

exit music for a film is so intense.

when the drums kick in... its just so hardcore.

i mean, its so simple... but it just sounds so powerful and
precise

Wake.. from your sleep
The drying of your tears
Today we escape, we escape

Pack.. and get dressed
Before your father hears us
Before all hell breaks loose

Breathe, keep breathing
Don't lose your nerve
Breathe, keep breathing
I can't do this alone

Sing.. us a song
A song to keep us warm
There's such a chill, such a chill

You can laugh
A spineless laugh
We hope your rules and wisdom choke you
Now we are one in everlasting peace

We hope that you choke, that you choke
We hope that you choke, that you choke
We hope that you choke, that you choke

JUST GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS....Reminds me totally of a girl i
was once in love with only to be stabbed in the back....

Thats why i LOVE the last lines....

=)

He hopes that who chokes? her father? is he angry with her
father or something? is thom trying to take the daughter
away from an angry father figure or merely 'stealing' her
away from a father angry at HIM? I totally don't get those
last lines.

I think he's mad at HER....inside she IS NOT HURRYING enough
to escape together....He tries and tries to take her away
from what SHE knows and she WONT go...so he turns sour and
hopes she chokes....

IMO

according to FOLLOWMEAROUND.COM a Radiohead site:

Available on: OK Computer
Other Versions: none.

While on tour with Morissette in September 1996, Radiohead
was sent the last last half-hour of Baz Luhrmann's film
William Shakespear's Romeo and Juliet and asked to write a
song for the closing credits. Band members were impressed by
the clip, and Thom wrote theis song for the movie. At first
he attempted to use lines from Shakespeare's play as lyrics,
but finally ditched the idea. The moment in the film when
Claire Danes (Juliet) holds a Colt 45 to her head was the
actual inspiration for "Exit Music". Thom also had the 1968
version of the film in his head: "I saw the Zeffirelli
version when I was 13 and I cried my eyes out, because I
couldn't understand why, the morning after they shagged,
they didn't just run away. The song is written for two
people who should run away before all the bad stuff starts.
A personal song." (Harris, review). [Radiohead: From a Great
Height]
Ed: Thom looked at Shakespeare's original text and tried to
incorporate it into the song - but he gave up on that
quickly. But I still think it fits with the film amazingly
well, especially as the lyrics are actually quite personal.

Ed: We wrote this on demand for the soundtrack of the 'Romeo
& Juliet' movie. We were on tour in the States with Alanis
Morissette, when we received the video with the last 30
minutes of the film.

Thom: When we saw the scene in which Claire Danes holds the
Colt 45 against her head, we started working on the song
immediately. I had something with 'Romeo & Juliet' a long
time already. I had a crush on Olivia Hussey, who played
Juliet in the sixties, for a long time. I first saw the
movie when I was 13. I just couldn't believe why Romeo &
Juliet, after they had made love, didn't run away together.
Romeo should have packed his bags, jumped out of the window
and eloped with her! Romeo was an asshole I thought then.

Ed: The worst I think is that 'Exit Music' only starts at
the e

i hate karma police...
off ok computer, i love paranoid android and electioneering,
like very much airbag, subterrean homesick alien and
climbing up the walls, don't like no surprises nor lucky and
hate karma police.

about karma police and no surprises, i don't know if i
should take the lyrics ironically or not. i hope i should.
it seems to describe the political situation in my country
nowadays. people thinking like that, longing for security
and nothing else, wanting police everywhere for nothing,
being paranoid and afraid of anything, made a thief being
reelected as president (and in 2nd place was a fascist).

Everything about OK Computer is self-effacing and irony.
That and its talented musicianship is what makes it great.

even if it's ironic, he hides it very much, there isn't much
things that can help you getting the irony (only thing may
be the "i've given all i can but we're still on the
payroll")...! and his whiny voice doesn't help at all.
i know, i'm very shallow, not mature at all and far too
influencable... -_-

maybe i hate it because it reminds me of the cruelty of the
world and of some people too... and just denonciating the
situation in such a way doesn't really make anything to
change it, does it?

yeah, I had heard that it's was written for Romeo and
Juliet... I don't much like the song... it was once my
favorite, but now it's my least favorite from the albumm...

one good thing I must mention about that album is that just
about every song on it was my favorite from it for a period
of time... I don't think that's happened for any other
album...

intirgued me to NO END, and I didnt even know it was the NEW
