SKIHMANEID is the track in question, so check it out please!
[either DL or stream]

INKOFLUNKSTERN is a soundscape, that is why it is so large!

LEt me know what you think of the first one [or both!]
please and thanks!

machine by roland?

skihm's a good track but it lacks quirkiness I guess. ...
like, I don't know, otto von schirach isn't "above" using
farts as percussion, if he described his music as "it will
paint the soundtrack to your soul", he'd be being sarcastic
or making a parody of people that take music too seriously
or something. It would be much more impressive if there
already wasn't a tremendous supply of electronic tracks
available for free for everyone. not particularly
standoutish. What I think it needs is an insanely quirky
theme to tie it together, something more organic against the
electronic sounds... like maybe www.mp3.com/tchony could
assist you with his mad lyrical skills.

wMw: hmm, not much into lyrics>i do that with my band, adn
fart noises are a little redundant, although they do have
their place in ernest movies.
soundtrack to your soul was what a DJ once said about my
musik.
i thought it was a nice compliment, and she has great taste
in musik, but anyway....

this track isn't very standoutish?
the reason i put it up as an mp3 is because it was the one
that most people responded to!
hmmm.
well if you have a moment adn don't mind too much, could you
check out a few more tunes o' mine?
the site is in my avatar, just klik and klik.
even if yr not into it, thanks just the same for the
feedback!

monkey jedi: i don't know?
r8 is just quicker than typing rate, m8!

i like it man

very well done

just a few little things...

1. drums where too loud. I am only listeniing through my
comp speakers, but the melody seemed to buried in the mix.
At first i didnt even hear it until i turned it up!
2. i think it needed a little more variety. while it does
break down in sveral places, its somewhat subtle

but over all man i really dug it
one of the better tracks ive heard here on the boards.

keep it up!

offline skodt from Toronto (Canada) on 2002-08-03 05:28 [#00335127]

thanks zeus!
i dropped the melody back as sort of an attempt at
confliedish writing.
i'm not a big fan of that, but i learned a lot form it.
i also wen t against my instincts to do a 'verse chorus etc'
song>again a challenge of myself against an autechre way of
doing things.
there is still a lot to be learned about this process
though!
thanks for the feedback m8!
there are a ton of other tracks available through my site,
but they are streaming audio only, so that depends what yr
feelings are towads that.
anyway, j'ai fatiguer.
bon nuit!
á domain!

yes, it is always hard to try and break away from your
normal method of writting

it feels wierd, but its very worth it!

i made one track with only synths, even for the drums, and i
just toally threw harmony out the window...

and i turned out pretty good for the most part

some things need changin... but i got good feedback with it

zeus: what's the name of it? and hyper it on this thread for
me!

wMw: i just finished listening to tchony, and that stuff is
soooooo bad!
such crap!
i laughed so hard!
yr post seemed serious, but after hearing that!!
that kind of stuff is what my friends and i do when we are a
little off our rockers!
i should find those tapes adn post them on mp3.
i freestyled for just over 8 minutes once during one of
these sessions w/o a slip up!
it actually sounded good, but it was a total fluke!
any other time i try it it comes out like tchony!

That ambient track is great, so is the first one I heard. By
standoutish I meant stuff like otto von schirach's 8000 bc
etc... it's just my preference for whatever reason to hear
the most innovative weird stuff possible. Here's a station I
made at mp3.com with some similar deliberately
(hopefully...) retarded tracks:
www.mp3.com/stations/blueberrymuffins
I love dj inspiration's track about jesus and pokemon

I like it.

It sounds a lot like it should be a chase scene in a cartoon
with big angry robots.

Zeus' track sounds like the angry robots are being passified
by watching a beautiful sausage making machine running on
empty.

zeus: I have been listening to your three tracks for the
last hour, adn i really enjoy the 1st adn the third.
i'm not much for critiquing unless i feel there is someting
really holding the piece back.
there are a few things here and there that i would have done
differently, but that's why u are u and i am i!

yr sound is alongthe same vein as a friend of mine who
started elektonik stuff at the same time as me.
that's why i stay away from that sound, though lately i have
been wanting to delve into that 'artificial' sound.
i don't mean that as an insult by any means!
it just imparts a feeling of soulessness.
and that's a very powerful thing in my books!
do you have any other work up?

wMw: i'm gonna check yr station now!
i'll let you knwo when it's through what i think.
i'm prepared to wet my pants, so i hope it doesn't let me
down!

wMw: well 37 songs have come to an end, and the last i had
to check yr page to see how this trance shit fit in!
oddly enough i have a heard a few of those tracks>very few
but i've still heard them somehow, which is sscary that that
srtuff circulates as much as it does!
i don' think i'll ever make any tunes like that, and put it
under my name!
that's all stuff for when yr a bit loose with yr buds!
thanks for sharing though!

i think i'm going to put up another mp3 on me page to see
what you guys think, although there's plenty non mp3 musik
to hear on me site!
but for now i've got to get back to painting!

i think we are going to contact TDK or something adn
purchase single colour silkscreened disks adn
burn/silkscreen them ourselves.
much cheaper i think, but that is still up in the air.
how bout yr self?
