Over the past week I have seen rats in Newcastle on three separate occasions. And I don't mean pet rats. I find rats really scary and disgusting. I hate the way they move so fast, I hate their tails, I hate the fact that they're so big, and I hate the fact that they're so clever. Does anyone have any rat-stories to satisfy my morbid curiosity? |

Nah, I can actually tell the difference between rats and charvers. It's very difficult though. Rats are just that little bit more intelligent. |

OMG how can u say that ? rats are soo sweet! , i once had 3 as pets and they were so nice , they are soo intelligent and there tails are lovley , they wrap them aorund ur arm when u hold them. they are the cutest!admitedly they are a problem in soem areas , but humans arnt exactly the best thign for nature are we? anon |

yeah, rats are well cute...we've got 5 girl pet rats at home in a big old chinchila cage in the front room... Somehow managed to avoid cleaning em out over the weekend but must do soon as they are beginning to get a bit sweaty & smelly...we use cat litter in the base of their cage and that works wonders in keeping em clean and smell free and they do seem to like it better than sawdust or hay... but yeah, wild rats ain't so cute....& seem to grow about 5x as big....anyone remember that James Herbert books The Rats & The Lair; used to scare myself stupid with all his books as a over-imaganative teenager.... Jedi: yay, Roland...and never forget Kevin the Gerbil...wonder what they are up to now? probably in panto or something stupid... |

Last I heard, Kevin was doing time for kiddie-fiddling and Roland eloped to Bangkok with Bungle. There was always an undercurrent of sexual depravity to their show. Scrape the surface and you'll always find something murky underneath I always say. |
