I can't make music like i used to. It's like i just sit and fumble wirh some tunes and then quits it all. I can't pull my self together...maybe it's bcuz of all the stress....
if you think i'm being a pessimist, please respond in the "I think i'm a pessimist"-topic. Thank you

Bake a cake upside down.
seriously, i have the same problem you do. I haven't made a good song in months. I don't know about you, but i think i hit a point where i can only do so much based on 'playing by ear'. i need to take music lessons / chord theory to know more...and then use that creatively. maybe thats what you need to do? i don't know what your situation is. thing is keep trying things out...make little tunes here and there...or perhaps put two tunes together. play things backwards...have fun with it. hope that helps.

I found out yesterday that my approach was totally different than it used to be. I used to make the melodi and after that, the drums. But I have been so facinated by drill-sounds that I was trying to make the drums first....bad approach.

i've been kind of in a rut. i haven't been happy with anything since i did learning to cope with everything. nothing else seems as genuinely good to me, and i don't like it.

yeah...if you do the drums first its hard to write the notes for it for me. its like coming up with a name for a story and having to write the story based on it...its impossible. you write the story first THEN the name.
melody before drums imo

yeah sure, at music-school, and live gigs. But I still need to have my own...I use my stereo at the moment. Jacking the bass through my PC, using effects from PC.

ya i was watchin "the human face" on tlc a couple weeks ago. john cleese (the narrator) mentioned that thing about shakespeare.
hehehe they had a fake shakespearian paparazzi of quick painters to get pics of him. cleese incorporates some of the monty python humor into the show =)

I saw that show! that was really cool...i liked his humor. that was funny when that lady assistant of his took off her face...freaky. and him taking out all his anger on those poor computers! that was the best! it was an interesting show though. i don't remember seeing anything on shakespear though. is that show a series or something?
