i see alot of talented peeps on the "net"who openly share what they have created and it`s dope to be able to see what`s being produced but it has a risk cuz mothafuckah can`t keep they hands off shit.I talking about theft...piracy,biting.i get very anti about that shit but i don`t like paying lawyers fees to register copyright so i do it myself...fees are usually between 500 to 1,000 dollars if you hire an attorney...HIS COST:30$ plus postage if applied...well,i don`t like that either so i`m gonna block it by helping anyone here get the necessary forms to protect your intellectual property so i can go about my business enjoying your works...
just drop questions or anything related here.
some renewals and other transactions may fluctuate in price but never anywhere near what an attorney is going to charge.

what?
there are other ways to do it.
if you can prove you made the song, as soon as its recorded to any format, its copyrighted
thats why on those sites like mp3.com it says that all songs are copyrighted by the artist... because as soon as its recorded, its technically copyrighted
and this is upheld internationally

that all in basic u.s.copyright law.all"orogional works of authorship"are protected that are fixed in a tangible form of expression.copyrightable works are:literary, musical, dramatic, pantomine and choreographic works, pictoral, graphic and scuptural works, motion picture and audiovisual works, sound recordings and architectural works.a dj work register copyright for sound recordings but if you got video in your gig it`s audiovisual transmission(i don`t recall right off hand the form but i`ll get it)it covers both published and unpublished works.from the time the creation is in fixed form it immediately becomes the property of the author and give them the exclusive rights to authorize someone elses use.
if i find any limitation or loopholes i`ll let you know cuz it`s not limited in scope...i`ll post section 106A soon as i get time so you know exactly the statutory basics and you can put your mind at ease...
i debate with a fillipino dude who`s an artist...he gets elated when people steal his shit but in that country the artist set the trends and people copy them without benefit of copyright... you`re supposed to work your ass off creating and let it be an easy mark... now that sux.
that madd dope that you have a close relationship and work co-operatively with your peers...you dj`s keep me dancin` all night.
