i'm not talking about that. a ton of people think they're just so interesting that they have to call people up on the cell phone just to shoot the breeze while they're driving in their car, like who wouldn't want to talk to them? it's a cure for boredom really. just seeing people carry on on their cell phone walking around a store or on the sidewalk makes me sick. |

i use my cell phone as my primary phone... it stays INSIDE MY HOUSE... unless i am going off on a big trip :) i do not think that is "egotistical" or stupid... i just hate the fact that large companies can charge up the ass on phone calls |

yeah ok i can see that but as far as usefullness goes, i think they are great. when i lived in italy i had one, and you know, me and some friends would go out on the town, and we wouldnt be able to find were everyone else was, so wed give a ring, and then meet up and stuff also id call my parents if i was gonna be late and stuff |

in denmark last week i saw a bicyclist in a busy street having a conversation on his cell phone with one hand on his cell phone and the other on the handle bar, and i thought, wow, this really has gone too far. |

I despise them. Everyone I see goes walking around talking into those things all the time. Just for the SAKE of it. You're not that interesting, just shut up and do your thing and there's lots of time to talk later where I won't HEAR you bitch about ''Chris' girlfriend'' and ''Rob's car''. I was lost yesterday and I called my dad and he gave me directions. I never would've found the place without the phone. BUT they do cause lots of accidents so I don't talk on them unless I need to. |

I think it's illegal in Ireland to drive a car and use a mobile without a hands-free kit. I've seen plans on using "mobile phone dampeners" for movie theatres and restaurants, but I'm not sure what the legality of that is - doctors might be on call, etc. |

I hate when people mis-use mobile phones. I do agree they are good for security reasons and so forth. It just pisses me off me I hear people saying 'How could we have lived without Mobile Phones'. Bah, wankers :) |

I like them. And why not? I can get a hold of people anywhere, people can get a hold of me and if I want I can turn it off or put it on ignore. It holds adresses, #'s ofcourse and other stuff. Its my communication tool really, and I play a flat rate for a nice phone, 7pm to 7am everyday free and weekends free too. And the pay is super cheap for 200 minutes a week inbetween all the free stuff. I like cell phones! |

cell phones are a necessary evil for me...absolute necessity for my work. it's a convience that i can't remember doing without. i agree it's dangerous to drive and talk on the telly (i try to limit exchanges and i do have hands free) but i can't tell you how many times i've been saved by my handy phone. calling a taxi in the middle of the night in a unfamiliar city (remember BF o mine =) etc., etc... it does bug hearing someone's person convo whilst shopping for groceries, or telling someone 5 times to turn off their phone cos we are about to take OFF, etc.. but overall it's a technological advance that i'm happy about! =D |
