i remeber that it is one of your favourite artists mr meho-
so i have two questions:

-could you give me the names of some worth d/loadin tracks
by merz?

-is all of his stuff so hard-core pure noise?

All of his stuff is noise but it's not all the same. For
instance: the album "Pulse demon" is just roaring feedback
all the time, whilst "Music for bondage performance vol 2."
is loops and metallic percussion and "Doors open at 8 am"
has a bit of everything. Try his latest outing on mego
(www.mego.at), the album is called "A taste of..." and has
four tracks that can be all streamed in mp3 from that site
(and dug out of your temporary internet files folder and
saved on your HDD). It's less noisy than usual, and more in
the "minimal", mego vein.

www.hut.fi/~omertalo/Merzbow.html

for album covers and track listings, but that site is really
dated.

Don't pussy out on me now, soldier. Merzbow is pure
pleasure. Try finding Autechre's "Ecobondage", that's a
re-mix of merzbow's music for bondage performance and is
about 11 minutes long. It's nothing like the original thing
but will have you interested, I hope.

I can only listen to it when I'm a bit psychotic, to "clean"
my brain. But I'm always a bit apathic afterwards so I think
it's best to listen to it at a later time in the day. This
stuff is certainly not for everyone...

No, it's for everyone. Everyone should listen to Merzbow as
it is challenging and strong and euphoric and numbing by
turns and above all it's surrealistic.
