I know it is somewhat of a bone of contention to many
peeps, but it is a matter very close to my heart.
I adore Anime (my faves being Evangelion and Lodoss) and I
am proud to say that I have a huge collection of them.
After all, where else can a guy own a movie where you can
watch women being taken from all directions and not feel
like a slimy one-hand shaker? It's far more accepted in an
anime than in a true/live movie.
So.....do you watch Anime/Manga....and if so, what's your
faves?

I watch it, but I don't have a massive collection like some
of my friends. Akira and Princess Mononoke are my favorites,
but I haven't really scratched the surface of what's out
there. The original manga for Akira is pretty good.

Oops, forgot "My Neighbor Totoro." It's supposed to be for
kids but I like it too. :-P

Not really... but whenever I see anime on TV or somebody
shows me it, I always like it. Just watched Ninja Scroll the
other day. They make some quality animation over there in
the land of the Rising Sun.

Indeed. For those of you who think anime is either like
Disney or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles....get a copy of
either Urotsukidoji (Legend of the Overfiend) or 3x3 eyes
and see once and for all what anime is all about!!!

I don't like all the recent anime series that have invaded
america. But i do adore the greats of Ghost in the shell,
and Ninja scroll, If everyone in akira didn't look the same
then i'd put that one on my favs...it's a decent flick, but
the fact that everyone looks sooo alike, gets anoying fast.

I havent' really seen any recent anime movies, blood the
last vampire (which sucked monkey cock), and perfect blue,
were my most recent.

Armitage: The Third

Iria: Zeiram

Cowboy Bebop

These are all good.

I like Japanese animation, but am very picky about it.

Akira - Ghost in the Shell - Perfect Blue -The Wings of
Honneamise - Cowboy Bebop - Ninja Scroll - Metropolis -
Serial Experiments: Lain

There's probably more, I just can't think of them right now.
Oh, and those weren't in any particular order.

I love the Street Fighter Anime/Manga. I also have the full
set of Street Fighter II V tapes (all nine) - they're really
good!

Anyone ever see Cybercity OEDO, that is good as well, I also
have the 3 tapes in that series.

DISNEY IS SHITE! And fuck SailorMoon, Pokemon, Card

Disney isn't shit. You may hate them because of the soppy
sappy stories, but it's just that their stories are aimed at
a younger audience and families. They don't have blood and
guts. The quality of work that goes into their
'masterpieces' is tremdous. The Lion King by far is one of
their best in my opinion. I'm a great fan of Manga and
Anime, and I have to say that not many of these films come
anywhere close to the 'quality' of the Disney films.

Oi! I'm totally not into blood & guts stuff. Artisticly,
I find anime has better lines, textures, and colours. And
the stories are SO much more advanced tahn Disney. Infact,
the "nature" themed piece at the end of Fantsasia 2000, is a
blatant rip-off of Princess Mononoke!!!

you're right.
Princess mononoke's main theme is
nature and live together between human being and nature .
im surprised your review.
in japan most of people don't understand what princess
mononoke
want to tell us.
that is funny.

for disney
it's just that it only¡¡have theme about love.
acutally i don't watch disney movie so much. there may be
other disney works that
have different theme.
if my thinking is wrong i may applogize
disney fun.

sometime innocnet is thread....

"Princess Mononoke" made a gazillion dollars in Japan.
That's probably where they got the cash for the English dub.
