us NZers are kinda stuck with it..the previous very fascist Right Wing govt enforced Drivers Licences with photographs and invasive database knowledge collections...this centre Left Govt has eased up on it a bit... The US citizen take all of this for granted..they have been eternally bagged, tagged and catalogued with Social Security Cards.....that you need everywhere from cashing your checks to brushing your teeth..and all the databases..banks, libraries, hospitals, Blockbuster..are all streamlined and regulated via this number... |

Yeah, my american mate said their social security cards are crap too- not even laminated and you're not allowed to laminate them yourself. He says they fall apart and disintigrate all the time and they're a hassle to get replaced... |
