hi! finally registered, used to post on the v.3 mb. nice to see its still cosy here! a few comments to get the ball rolling...
1. drukqs - one day will be spoken of in terms of saw2 and icbyd... no? i think so!
2. saw1... good, but overrated... ok, ok, he was only a kid...
3. i hear everyone discuss rephlex acts, sqp, etc, as well as afx, but whats the board's general opinion of kid606/tigerbeat6? warning - i speak as an obsessed fan!!! ;-)
4. finally... and i did a few posts the week it happened, but unbelievably NO ONE replied ------ did anyone else here get to afx's gig at the barbican in october, part of the stockhausen festival? dudes, listening to afx, on earphones, in a fucking jungle, with him doing his thing on a balcony above us! it was great...
anyway, let me know whatcha think... cheers!

Kid 606 kicks ass. Blechtum from Blechdom too. I haven't heard Cex yet but adore Matmos and especially Lesser.

Kid 606 has many faces:
On some records he's pure breakbeat chaos and distorsion, on some he's calmer glitchy minimal techno. And on some he's violently plunderphonic, splicing together impossible tracks.
Blechtum from Blechdom are funny, witty and tongue-in-cheek. Their music is kinda twisted, but still falls into IDM category I guess.

I'm with hotroxx on drukqs - 'specially disk 1. I think, for overall genius, it's his best work.

anyway... if u read my posts on this mb, its pretty obvious im a kid606 fan... so u know what i thinki there! afx i love, but the point of this thread is this - am i really the only person who posts here who was at the barbican/jungle conservatory/earphones/madness gig last october, part of the Elektronik stockhausen ferstival they had...? nah, surely not!
