To be honest, I didn't think it was _that_ great the first
times I heard it either.

But it grew on me big time. And I think there's a good
chance it'll grow on you too.

Heh. I just bought MHTRTC today. Listening to this Roygbiv
tune. It's good, but far from their best work. I like an
eagle in your mind, Turquoise Hexagon Sun. And damn, that
Aquarius song is funky. Love that bassline! bmm bmm-bmm
bm-bm-b-b-bm-bm-bm

Roygbiv was the first track that caught my attention when I
first listened to MHTRTC, but I shortly moved past it and
started to appreciate the rest of it. I wouldn't even put it
in the top 5 of that CD. Another reason I don't like it
could be that it was my ex's favorite, and I hate that
bitch. :D

lol. the first track that caught my attention was an eagle
in your mind. I don't think it's mentioned enaugh on this
mb, it's so haunting, sad in a way. I love that piano melody
in Roygbiv.

has warp re-issued hi scores & ABPOITC? I really really
really really want those :P

I have Geogaddi on my hard drive. I like it. Alpha And
Omega, 1969, Sunshine Recorde, Music Is Math, The Devil Is
In The Details, good stuff. But.....i like MHRTC way
better.

ps: Magic Window is the BoC song ever.

offline Joyrex from watmm.com (United States) on 2002-07-18 05:03 [#00313773]

Correct me if I am wrong, but the bassline in ROYGBIV is a
SH-101.

Skam has not reissued Hi Scores, and I don't think IABPOITC
is out of print yet (the CD version at least).

The title track of Twoism is also, very, very good - kinda
creepy too!

roygbiv
reminds totally of the theme to
Stationary Ark, this Gerald Durell science show about his
Zoo yadda x 3
it was a mid-70's BBC/CBC production that played for years
in repeats(boc were there, eating their cereal in the wood
paneled rec rooms of their childhood - no other
explaination!!!)

Also, how do you compare fingerbib to roygbiv...I find them
absolutely equal in their 70's moog science show emulation!

I'm really fickle about which is my favourite on that album.
Roygbiv and Sixtyten are the most often, though. Right now
I'd say Happy Cycling and Rue the Whirl, with
Triangles&Rhombuses close behind.

For some reason I can't listen to sixtyten

it's probably not that great.
I just don't listen to music the same way most people do.
not trying to be elitist or anything; what I mean is that I
register it differently - I convert it into visuals
instantaneously. and sixtyten has the best visuals on the
album besides Happy Cycling.
