that i question the logic of it in general. you think writing a check is going to fix decades of issues? white guys in middle america be just as bad, but i'm sorry, you write loads of people random checks for tens of thousands and you're going to see a prompt uptick in drug overdoses and then, over ten years, you'll see absolutely nothing got solved. try a dialogue, you dolts |

this stuff drives me crazy. i'm purportedly a "liberal" but socialism never works. multiple people will move in on the bonanza, if it happens, and a cottage industry of getting the cash out of all the newly flush people will develop. people that dabbled with drugs and never quite had a problem, now have a sudden rockstar bankroll and now they do have a problem. and none of this is really anything to do with the color of your skin |

you know what it really is? it's that winning the lottery can actually destroy someone's life -- in many ways. the really massive winners in the news are reliably inundated with letters begging for money. they start to get paranoid about being kidnapped for ransom (not necessarily just paranoia!) and hire security. if you were a normal joe about town you can't go back to that life anymore because now someone might bag you while you're out at the pub. then the smaller ways: a drug aside that becomes a massive habit because money is no object. how you can brush aside the random letters begging for money, but you lose some family relationships too when you refuse to write a $10k check for your cousin who wants to open a pub or something. a massive influx of money can be a horrible thing, actually. it certainly won't fix racism |

never mind. it probably won't actually happen. i just need a moment to process, precisely, why this irritated me so much. and the previous post; that's it. the cake is baked. writing people a check for up to $1.2m as this article describes is like "this will not end well." anything over $5000 per head is asking for tears. this is not racial, this is america. |
