if you live a mildy remote area, and you go for walks, do
you greet people if there are not many people around?

like, 'out in the country' it seems to be etiquette to do -
and i really like it - but some people just fuckin stare at
me as if i've got two heads, even though they made eye
contact and its just me and them in the middle of fuckin
nowhere

but its kinda funny cos obviously there is some sort of
threshold, like if you walked around greeting ppl in the
city then that is clearly nutter behaviour (or is it, lol)

i actually called some bloke a cunt in the middle of a
forest the other day, cos i said hello to him and he just
stared at me... it was really weird, i regretted it after.

thing is, you'd think these schoolteacher types who've
taken a wrong turn would want to keep me on their side, a
simple 'alright' would suffice... i think it's prison rules,
really

i was thinking that too afterward but it was just the
expresionlessness of it... like so weird to bump into
another human out there, and there was no reaction in the
face whatsoever

Do you look like killer bob from Twin peaks?

Yeah chances are he was being a git but you never know

There used to be a bloke who looked like terry pratchett by
the hospital with a long coat and hat and he would be
smoking a pipe but if you walked past him he would become
terrified and just run into the middle of the busy road even
if there were cars there. Can't imagine what he's been
through

reversed

>>> Do you look like killer bob from Twin peaks?
no not atm, mbe if u swapped the hair for chin
oh nothing like that Terry Prachett, no way....
i think i may get on with these ppl if i met them in the
pub, i just wanna know what there (non)motivation is for not
saying hello, not as if it costs anything, and they always
look like they are well into their 'etiquette' otherwise -
yeah, thats what bothers me... maybe they are just a bit
uptight,.... window into a headspace, there

some people are just rude dickheads, they make snap
judgements. I always say hello if someone says hello to me

Its a really horrible feeling when you make an effort to
engage someone and its no reciprocated.

this thread now reminds me of this video i happened to watch
earlier today: LAZY_TITLE

particularly the idea of a wolf boy, being locked inside an
apartment for decades, eventually made his escape and one of
his early few social interactions with the external world
was a young man on lsd for the first time

reminds me of what happened to my mate on shrooms, he didn't
have any visuals but felt like he knew what everyone was
thinking in the street we were in

i don't think he enjoyed it, he wanted to jump in the canal,
i had to stop him doing it but I was out of it myself so was
quite a worrying situation, which made me experience all the
buildings loom like hanzel and gretel in a cartoon way with
a green tinge

And my gf phoned and I had to pretend I was fine and not on
drugs but when she spoke her voice has that reverse echo on
it so it sounded like she was ringing from the future to the
past, but i was with it enough to know it was just the
effect of the drugs

in the club i nod at people usually because it's too loud to
say hello. also i get stared at sometimes and sometimes
people know me and im not sure if i know them. cant really
go wrong with a nod to start with, if people nod back you
can say hello.

...Pai Mei...in a practically unfathomable display of
generosity, gave the monk the slightest of nods.

The nod...

...was not returned.

i greet a lot in nature and my neighbourhood, but not
always, depends really whether eyes meet. so if youre out
and enjoy the sights there is no need for me to pull you out
of it.
so, if eyes meet for a moment, i usually nod or greet if the
counterpart hasnt already.

great way to display insecurities and prejudices too.
