this sounds amazing.
what do think this will revolutionize?
digital remastering?
karaoke/play along software?
or can we just save tons of money
on seperate microphones or studio equipment?
i just pray autotune wont take over the classics now too.

yeah remixing and remastering of older media seems like its
going to be possible in a way that wasn't possible
previously. I wonder if it introduces new artefacts into the
audio like the way images looks a bit weird. But if it does,
i can't hear any.

it is pretty weird voodoo magic.
i just recently learned how different waveforms kind of melt
and form a new one. then i saw a LSDJ tutorial, of how you
could paint those half sine half square waves to make it
appear as two sounds on one channel. just from looking at a
typical wave display from a wave editor or an oscilloscope,
you´d wonder where the heck does all that information come
from? but when i think of spectrum analyzers, like the ones
that made aphexs equation face visible. forgot its name, its
been a while. yeah its absolutley beleivable that its
possible to split different instruments. still i wonder what
threshhold was broken to make this possible now, as the
older spectrum analyzers have been around for like 20 years.
i remember it was possible to paint and let it output a wave
file of it.
at some point instruments probably overlapped too much to
make a clear seperation. but there has to more to it.

couldnt hear any either, maybe its part of the process to
eliminate unfitting noise. the programmers of whatever
software was used probably occurred a lot of glitches though
the making and once you try this at home, you´d probably
find some of those.

yeah i think it obviously is dependent on the original
information content of the original recording, but would be
great to hear all the pops and crackles removed to a high
degree

reissuing polished works from 80 years ago could be a small
gold mine with all the copyright being gone. sure would like
to hear some roaring 20´s jazz music.
