this site actually used to be fucking useful. i did, i called it, youtube scrying, i'd just generate some verbal nonsense and punch it into youtube, when i needed samples for a track i was working on. sampling middle school kids filming crap vids in bed bath 'n' beyond. but if i wanted something less vague, more specific, it was always there. it ain't no more. i simply want to sample from the arnie movie, "eraser" -- the girl, the disk, by dawn... they don't exist and it's not that it's not available. ten years ago, youtube would have just served this right up. but between copyright turf wars and share price pressure i search for a bit of an arnie movie, and, quite literally, i get back ed sheeran vids, no matter what i try. quotes? no, ed sheeran. + and quotes and more specific terms an- nope, ed sheeran cunt is so full of himself for losing ten kilo that he thinks he can take over everything i ever search for on the tubes. |

your issue might be a local quirk. search finds what i type in and next video always follows up thematically. that copyright however is a real son of a bitch, if you want movie samples, crummy streaming portals are a pain but yify torrnts always work for me, usually dont take very long either. |

yeah i have eraser on a backup drive somewhere, that was my answer. i left all the knobs in place on the gear and i might be able to get it back if i just leave it alone until i've dug that sample out. but work and all too tired maybe tomorrow one of my better things is i'll be working on a track, and the back of my brain will just say: you need to sample this bit from that movie. and it's generally right and cool i didn't really have to do any work there. but now i'm spoiled and it drives me mad if i can't dredge up the sample in <5min |
