we live near two hospitals. lived a bit closer to them for
some years. any time it started to rain there would be a
siren, so my gf claimed. it occurred quite often, almost
predictably 5-10 mins into the rainfall and made us start
the thesis people just couldnt be out in the rain without
accident. we never actually counted the days it rained with
or without hearing the siren though.

oh, yes, the interstate is nearby and in unin-inclement
weather, i'll sometimes hear sirens going over there.
drivers around here are impatient, brutal, and actually very
good... needs to be more than a spot of rain to trigger that

too scared to pick em myself
read a book which shows edible and non edible mushrooms but
so far i wasnt able to clearly identify any. there always
seem to be subtle but clear differences and since every
other page warns of an evil twin i guessed better leave it.

would love to be shroom wise though and go picking myself.
buy oyster, king oyster, shiitake and champignons in a pan
with loads of butter and serve em to pasta or ramen soup.
om-nom-nom

some council cunts came along and sprayed it all with weed
killer or something

identifying mushrooms is kinda weird, and i bet this is
generalisable to other things:
it took me a while to work out what was liberty caps... When
I was about 14 i picked a load of Stropharia and was quite
chuffed with myself... but when you see a liberty cap and
you know it, there is no doubting it. The only thing you may
have is false negatives where you chuck away something that
is a lib but you think it isn't.
I spent ages wandering around fields when I was about 14,
never saw any; then one year, not even looking, oh! here's a
load of shrooms. ... Have never seen them in a field that
hasn't got sheep in it.

not that specific brand but the .nl sites selling them look
legit. i've seen truffles described as both mexicana and
tampanensis, could never get to the bottom of that one. i
think -crazone has the dutch mushroom nollij, it's been
years since i've had shrooms but truffles were always my
fave
