My aunt brought me some nice scotches, Monkey Shoulder which
is a very smooth blend, and Bunnahabhain which is a single
malt Islay scotch, not as smooth but much more character.
Think I'll have some of that.

I haven't really drunk properly for a decade so its really
effecting me, but in a nice way haven't felt this relaxed in
ages

I tend to stay away from alcohol my father was a functional
alcoholic, he used to drink half a bottle of whisky a night
when he retired,

what's that like, I've had Laphroaig and Lagavulin but not
Ardberg. The Laphroaig is almost too much for me, seems like
something you'd pour into a guy having a heart attack in an
old movie and he'd splutter and be revived

hypies the drink is a terrible thing when it creeps up on
you, I barely drink at all anymore. I used to be a binge
guy, I'd get wicked sloshed a few times a month. Now I just
have a few and not often. I've watched friends become day
drinkers... not for me thanks.

yeah my brother was on a bottle of vodka every other night
he had a huge distended drinkers belly, thankfully he has
been sober for about 11 years now, he doesn't even drink tea
just tap water

ardbeg is supposed to be the most peaty, smoky one. and it
doesnt have any caramel in it

i had a big drinker's belly even when the rest of me was
emaciated from lack of everything non-tramp cider, it's a
bastard to shift booze weight. i've got an unopened bottle
of bushmills irish whiskey in the cupboard but it's an xmas
present for my stepdad, it's not even that tempting anymore

i kinda get why some ex-alkiez have a bottle just in case of
emergency though, does yr willpower good

yeah that's good, you have probably reached the age you wont
relapse now, its terribly sad when you see people drink
themselves to death and you cant help them

easy to tell yrself that but life can throw you for a loop,
i try not to get complacent. the main thing that keeps me
sober is being able to stay out of rehab n AA, the people
there don't talk about anything but booze and drugs, it's
the most tedious place i've ever been

sounds hellish, yeah your right not to get complacent, I
guess one incredibly bad day and before you know it your
pissed on a park bench, I got depressed and ended up in
crewe once, I had to hand myself into the police as id been
reported missing

I've been drinking a lot the last year. But i realized that
it makes me depressed. I was getting drunk like two weeks
ago, but i suddenly realized that i was bored even while
getting drunk.
The boredom didn't go away tho i was drunk.

Serious question: Who doesn't feel safe around Hyperflake?
Don't be afraid to speak up. We may need to pre-emptively
cancel him, and then maybe let him back when he demonstrates
he's no longer a threat.
