we live in strange times, dreads definitely aren't exclusive
to certain cultures, people in the stone age almost
certainly had dreads, whole things is a bloody waste of time
isn't it

I think what it really comes down to is that they don't
actually really care, they just want to get off on feeling
superior and correcting peoples perceived mistakes, they are
professional shit stirrers, there are a trillion other
things of more importance to nit pick over than how someone
chooses to wear her hair, you would think she was doing a
black and white minstrel show the way they are going on
about it,

all this cultural appropriation lark seems like a very
slippery slope to me, is there any such thing as one
hermetically sealed, homogenised culture anyway, things seem
more complex than they are portraying, we all know who was
big on cultural purity don't we

yeah I think the a lot of the generation younger than us
seem really like insufferable twats, they go for something
that is low hanging fruit, you probably wont see them
complain about something significant like Turkey ethnically
cleansing the kurds or what not as they aren't an easy
target

On the other hand I did find Kim Kardashian's fat arse
kimono to be pretty shitty and tasteless.

Also they claim black people invented techno, when kraftwerk
were doing it 10 years before. I don't really care but it
seems ok to emulate kraftwerk but not to emulate the
belville 3. Get a life kunts.

yeah I mean I understand when someone does something
egregious like wears an indigenous American headdress in a
stereotypical way, I can see how that is culturally
insensitive, but when you manipulating your own hair I think
that doesn't necessarily belong to one culture, if she was
wearing cornrows and mimicking an African American in other
ways fair enough but you can tell its not meant like that

The fun thing about Triggered Cadet Gammon Thread on Zilty
is it's always about someone using e.g. the forbidden R
word, it's never directly about the genocide of the Kurds or

No, it's always about language. buuuuhhhhh someone

The Kurds ain't our business. We ain't the British empire
any more. If we stay out they can have a war and settle
matters themselves. If we interfere we waste trillions on
stupid wars that aren't our business. It's not our religion
(ziltyism) but two of the three major abrahamic religions
believe the middle East belongs to them. Let them have their
stupid wars and let us stay out of it. Trump is doing the
right things geopolitically. Thank fuck there's a
businessman in charge atm rather than a sneaky lawyer or oil
barron.

The destruction of the rain forest is an international
calamity but what would you do to solve the problem? It's
not like we have a world government or international law
that's worth anything. Mass condemnation by other states,
sanctions, sending in spies and troublemakers to overthrow
the governments that are doing a bad job. USA tries this
stuff all the time.

Christians believe in the second coming of Jesus. Muslims in
the return of the prophet Mohamed. Jews in the coming of
Messiah. That's a huge chunk of the world population that
believes in redemption for the world. Climate change is
bollocks to them, simply another theory of the world coming
to an end. Atheism says no God, so people who are atheist
have to create strange concepts for their lack of belief in
God. All the main religions believe in some sort of world
king, backed by God who will sort out the world's problems,
make the barren lands habitable and fruitful etc.

Atheism is a big mistake because the world was created by
God. Atheism is a fallacy that leads to other fallacies.

I agree the west cant get afford to get bogged down in any
more middle eastern quagmires morally and economically, the
issue with the kurds is that they are allies and America
said you deal with all this terrorist blowback we created in
the first place and we will have your backs. If they abandon
them to Turkish slaughter firstly its a terrible betrayal
and secondly its pretty bad if you want to convince others
to be allies or have common goals in the future. America has
thrown them to the wolves that's the issue, if Trump had
stood up to Erdogan and kept peace keeping troops at the
border Turkey wouldn't have dared invade syria

Ms. Kravitz should not engage with these people in any kind
of debate. There is a strain of identity politics, that seem
like mirror image of alt-right.
Certain hairstyles do not belong to any kind of group of
minority. If you think only black people are allowed to wear
braids, you believe in some kind of essentialism concering
race and culture. That is the same thing ethnopluraliats and
people from the alt-right, when they are talking about
'white culture'.

She's obviously a fucking garbage person, but I basically
agree with Tony; the bigger issue here is why the fuck was
she allowed on these social media sites in the first place?
I thought we had sanctions against Russia for hacking our
elections. Yet Russians are allowed to use our social media
sites to spew their vile rhetoric? She can fuck off back to
VK or whatever shithole social network Russians use, but
Dorsey, Zuckerberg, et al. need to get these people off our
sites so they can't interfere in our democracy anymore.

The problem with identitypolitics is that everything is
beeing viewed through the lens of race and gender. Sure,
racism and sexism still exist and need to be outcalled. But
this needs to be done in a manner that doesn't reinforce
stereorypes about 'white men' or certain cultures, for
example that all Muslims or Indians are constantly offended
about certain jokes about their religion or culture.
Most people don't give a fuck about their culture or
identity anyway. In the end its all about money

All online reaction about "the Kurds" is mainly "Trump has
let them down". There's no reflection on the fact that
Turkey doesn't have to kill them all and let Isis loose,
that's somehow "natural". No, the bad thing is Trump. Not

I'd grant you that for all the virtues Kurds supposedly
have, nobody's that keen to house them.

Same as the Palestinians.

But then the Muslim ethos is all about pushing their
problems onto "the people of the book", rather than deal
with their own shit.
