Imagine, you're typing a work document or a lengthy
xltronic reply or your suicide note and you want to change a
word. You tentatively click on it only for the cursor to
land squarely in the middle.

What do you do hot shot?

...What do you do?

I'd double-click to select the whole word and then either
replace it or delete it. I know I know, I'm a Power User.

Fucking hell, I bet you use shift instead of pressing
capslock twice for every capital letter.

do you really want me to answer this? i spend all day at
working ((typing (code) && (the (way)) II ((about)
think(typing)) b unsimple

for your scenario, though, i hit delete until the latter
half of the word is gone, then backspace until the first
half is gone. if there's a part of the word i can employ to
form the target replacement word, i will determine the
optimal, minimal combination of delete/backspace that will
allow me to replace the word with the fewest keypresses

it is effectively a running priority queue, i have a list of
target objectives and i'm constantly shuffling them around
to minimize effort. i am exactly the same way when i'm
getting ready for work in the morning, doing the dishes, etc
