“I’ve had this style”

Always typing too fast and not checking! Anyway, how are you
fools?

Bell, I’m waiting for my mega drive mini! Getting anxious!

Autocorrect to “bell”, and again didn’t check.

ooh nice, ima jelly. been seriously more than a decade since
i played with a pad (on the ps1 not md), i'd probably have
to really immerse myself in it if i ever got back into
gaming. what's gonna be the first one you play? (nice doom
reference btw)

No. It’s plug and play, 42 mega drive games.

Belb, no idea. Definitely going to play the RPG ones later.
Might play earthworm Jim or mickey’s castle of illusion
first simply coz of nostalgia!

Nah! Maybe if I’d had it as a kid, but just had the plain
old mega drive. This is pretty much a nostalgia purchase.

Castle of illusion is amazing. Music is really good too.
Same for mean bean machine and kid chameleon, great tunes.

nah castle of illusion really is pretty good! castle/world
of illusion and quackshot were all developed by sega and
they're rather solid games

I remember playing it at the time and being astounded by the
ghrapbics and animation. It was at a point I honk where I
dreamt of playing a 2d platfromer that was like a cartoon.
Much later Aladdin and Earthworm Jim similarly blew my mind.
Some definite mega drive (Genesis for you, or is it mega
drive? He he) memories there. It’s coming back to me now
and how Aladdin and donkey Kong country were mind blowing
for me graphically.
My very first memories of the mega drive were Golden Axe and
Altered Beast. The first two Sonic games a bit later. Iirc i
liked and had moonwalker but looking back, not that great. I
didn’t play many it any RPG games on the console though.
So looking forward to shining force and phantasy Star IV,
and in a more Zelda vein I look forward to lamdstalker,
beyond oasis (Story of Thor) and this other one I forget the
name of. Lol.

No, no I couldn’t, funnyman mc cynical!

I play my games, this isn’t about “unopened boxes I keep
for value but will never sell” bs. This is about
revisiting my past wohnan officially product. Call me lame
like I said, but don’t mix everything up! Also I watch a
few YouTubers regarding games, and they play their games.

I enjoyed it a lot but thinking back it was a tad
repetitive. I loved the music and was impressed because it
was MJ though.

I know you love your shooters and it’s a bit of a downer,
only three on the European version. Thrunder force 3,
fantasy zone something and and exclusive version of Darius.
The Japanese release us loads more including Musha...

You’re right though, I’d swap a game or two on the mini
for that one for nostalgic reasons alone.

shame there's no thunderforce iv, i harp on about it in
every md thread going but it's so good, i'm listening to the
ost again now

i think the minis actually just run an emulator and you can
hack them and run any game on them if you're so inclined?

offline RussellDust on 2019-10-04 15:55 [#02586770]
Points: 15925 Status: Lurker | Followup to dariusgriffin: #02586740

Yeah, but I’ve gone against hacking any of my minis. I
appreciate that Sega and M2 put a lot of effort in and I’m
happy as it is. I’m not really into stealing much anymore,
though I do torrent series I don’t have access to and want
to watch. But yeah I will buy the latest Autechre or other
artist I’m a huge fan of, and buy my minis when I know
very well I could get a raspberry pi and bathe in the
opulence. Obviosuyk there’s a huge nostalgia factor and
for me it’s a big deal.
Aaaanyway! 89-94 was my happiest time playing video games.

yeah it's not easy, you learn where the enemy ships come
over time though. i used to play it with the 99 lives cheat
when i was younger... I'd probably get slaughtered by it
now, out of practice

At least there’s the third one. Only three shooters on the
European version is a shame.

That’s funny! I told Tonya Danzo over st the “hush
hush” Mb (ie the other place) that I was mistaken with my
“ego” comment. I mixed him up with Roger Wilco who
thought you were Tony Danza. The ego comment was for him.
Yeah a “secret” place you don’t know about!
