I like snickers, and I like peanuts a lot but the little
bits get stuck in my teeth, still wouldn't turn a snickers
down, always happy to see one in my Christmas sticking

Reading this thread has reminded me of how limited a choice
we have. Bad chocolate, cheap biscuit, weak caramel, the
cheapest shortcuts basically for some conglomerate to make a
fortune. Sad.

yes everything has conglomerated now, when Cadbury was
bought everything started to taste like ersatz chocolate,

i don't remember the song or even what they were like, just
that they were lovely and only the video shop near our house
had them, same with vice versas. they were like minstrels
but either white or brown choc on the inside

they were like a chocolate shell with a chocolate/caramel
moose inside I think, they were really really good

just checked on wiki, apparently they were withdrawn cos
they were too expensive to produce

do we mean chocolate bars, or candy bars?

when it comes to straight-up chocolate, trader joe's make's
this 80% dark mix in giant slabs that i absolutely love. if
you're going hiking, it is essential.

candy bars, hmm... 3 musketeers.

candy bars I suppose, I think over here chocolate bar is
used as a blanket term for everything you describe

although if its just pure chocolate we usually say a bar of
chocolate

yeah doesn't make sense, our snickers used to be called a
marathon bar, then they changed it to align with America

like starburst used to be called opal fruits over here
