with the end of pride month, and the switchover to july -- suddenly, all the pride flags are gone overnight, and replaced with american flags. one can imagine that the trump butt-buddies, the neo-nazis, and all that, have been quietly building a stew of rage throughout the course of what has been, to my memory, the most in-your-face pride month ever. meanwhile, you have antifa(scists) clashing with fascists; both sides taking the gloves off. now, trump is planning some july 4th travesty in which tanks roll down the streets of washington like they do in pyongyang on kimmy's birthday. obviously, people will protest. obviously, the other side will show up to protest the protest. i do have this lingering nervousness that it's all going to go pear-shaped, as the british might say not necessarily just in DC, either. and not necessarily just on the 4th. |
