I'm gonna get a Banddamp account just for this

i think it's just Andrew talking but I could listen to that
all day

Soundcloud make it hard to use unless you have the app. And
I see here I can’t even listen to him ramble unless I get
the app.
Sly.

And yeah, fan.

I lost one of the releases (physical) he did with ae a while
back and I felt a little sadness. Great packaging as well.

It's bandclamp, and i can't even see a preview thingie on
there (unless u are signed in?), Mr. Mckenzie hates MP3 and
has said he's just gonna do talkin on there... but i think
that's what he's interested in these days, get the
impression he is kinda, not distancing, but putting behind
him, the record-days...
Though wow, what records they are... Just him and a tape
machine and ingenuity, it seems!
If u look on Slsk there is also occaisonally a set of tapes
he did with Willem De Ridder called SPIRAL INFORMATION
SERVICE, from Amsterdam in the late 80s, which are fuckin
awesom, just bits and bobs and interviews with interesting
ppl

(There's a field recording of 100s of dogs barking at night
in town Italy somewhere, that I think is actually De Ridder,
on one, it's like an entire town of dogs barking, and i
haven't heard anything like it... Lol, tangential/tie-in,
but not even on Chris Watson records)

chris watson is wicked, does a lot of stuff for
radio 4 too. weather report is his go-to for sleep atm, i
love thunder and pissing it down rain

recent hafler trio i'm shamefully ignorant of but i've got
master of money in storage somewhere, loved that. i had a
few mp3s from slsk too, remember being blown away by
masturbatorium and their first ae collab. shame he doesn't
want online listening tho, what's a good recent one, i wanna
brush up

I like hafler trio but disabling previews on bandcamp is
some wanky shit.

interesting how the price of releases is either reasonable
or 33 euros.

absolutely cherish my h30 collection. hunting down h30 was
reminicant of the early afx/internet days while in college
where ytou didnt quite have an understanding for file
quality and there was no single torrent/zip of everything
and had to piece things together over time which was part of
the fun/exploration.

sold off my ae/h30 3x cds; were lovely just dont find myself
keeping physical media outside of 12"s and a few cassettes.
still have the 5.1 dvd with the snake skin and volcano ash
somewhere abouts.

i think it was me and mapp (andother usa'r) who were
absoltely nuts over halfer trio decade+ back. some really
good listening sessions back in the day; it was still unlike
anything i had really heard of at the time and definitely
triggered something i hadnt known i needed back yet then at
the time.

theres loads of stuff of which is basically the 'same'
thing, but gets nowhere close, not comparable. When I was in
a shared house I used to put the Ae ones on in the
background whilst we were chillin, playing xbox, and watch
people wonder what was going on

i think i found Mastery of Money first with *that* cover
and was just intrigued and ended up having a conversation
with the lady in the record shop about noise stuff though
she hadn't seen that record and was similarly intrigued..
Ahh, must have been '04ish i think.

i keep a small home and learned to disregard physical things
that weren't overall important to me. cd's never did it.
tapes im hanging on but they're bandished to a corner.
vinyl obvioucsly. but yes stil have that h30 5.1 release
and was a pleasure to be exposed to that way back at time of
release.
