Use the tutorials, they're amazing and really in-depth, the sequencing book is good but it's more geared at that single task and the theory behind it rather than showing the broad range of stuff the software can do. Sign up to the forums and search for the thing you want to make, grab a patch someone has made and have a look at it, alt clicking an object takes you to its info patch which tells you all about its function, shows examples and links to relevant tutorials. YouTube has a couple of guys making really good tutorial series as well. |

The software keeps growing too, I haven't even looked at beap or vizzie objects though they've been out for a couple of years. It's great value and really the only limit is your imagination, I've messed about with sequencing with physics simulations, VR, composed entire songs using just max. Very impressive but of kit. |
