I'm not big on metal (way too many nazis for my taste), but
check out a label called An Out, dedicated to anarchist,
queer, feminist and anti-racist music of the extreme
variety. Some fucking epic shit on there

lol no thanks, i like to keep politics out of my music,
thank you very much (even though i have been listening to
the leftist grindcore band Assuck lately). being
grindcore/death metal, their whole 10 year discography
hilariously fits into one hour.

'too many nazis for my taste' would make a good name for a
punk album tho

and it blew me away. "rain when i die" is fine, but i prefer
rooster, godsmack, and junkhead

rooster yeah, them bones, junkhead, dirt and would are the
best, and most of the others, their third album I don't
remember thinking was that great, although I like the sounds
sludge factory and god am

facelift is pretty fun, sunshine put you down and it aint
like that are my faves from that

man in the box ive heard to many time but still great

a music journalist described dirt as "like climbing into a
closet full of furs" and that does describe the heroin sound

I always really liked their harmonised vocals, it really was
akin to goth, they started off as a hair metal band which is
quite funny, but I geuss when they got hooked on the dope it
gave them that really serious sound

Junkhead is just the most evil song ever, seductive,
listening to this drugs guy lying to himself about being in
control and having choice. For me it's the bad choice song,
if it's 2am and I've had too much of something naughty and I
hear that song I want more something naughty. It's the
euphoria of self destruction, and it winds around your
brainstem like a snake.

it killed him

i was never particularly into opiates, but i tried vicodin
and percocet a few times, that warm and enveloping feeling

more interesting to me was what ginger baker (drummer from
cream) said: on junk, you can play anything. you're just
fearless

then i also recall commenting, "man, kurt cobain doesn't
breathe very much. even when he was alive"

lack of fear stemming from a lack of panic at the lack of
breath.
