so the amen break is turning 50 this year. the Winston's
Color Him Father / Amen, Brother single was released in may
1969.
i thought i might arrange some kind of tribute compilation
but i'm too lazy.
anyway how do you intend to celebrate? share your feelings
on the subject.

I watched 1/4th of a yt description. It just seems like a
large memetic megaphone was given to a drum loop by
historical accident. It's just another thing to memetically
snowball, like for example wikipedia probably considers this
break 'notable' therefore their newspeak bots won't ban the
article. So now someone is incentivized to use this break
merely for viral advertising. Like some popular asshat, like
say justin beiber, the guy who said in 'carpool karaoke',
some sort of plutocracy ritual, that he throws his slave
made underwear away everyday and just buys new ones (does he
even make music I don't know) say he uses this break in his
music. Now wikipedia says 'notable people who notably used
this: justin beiber' (meaning snowballed fake shilled viral
celebrity people). so now justin beiber and the break both
get more fame, and since it's illegal to homestead land, and
everything is rigged, fame practically IS the ability to
live. If you don't chocolate rain yourself in a giant cringe
compilation for hyperinflation paper, you're not allowed to
live anymore. So essentially the amen break kills
people, along with justin beiber, by monopolizing the whole
information spectrum, and thus money and ability to live
too. Just like how everyone rich is so illegitimately, since
the whole system is so inverted, everything popular is so
illegitimately too. We need a complete inversion, when the
meek inherit the earth, the amen break won't be notable, as
it shouldn't be. One guy's drum loop? Centralization like
everything else. Amen break is napster, we need bittorrent
to break down all shitty long pieces of memetic dna and
rearrange them.
"The slightly selfish big bit of chromosome and the even
more selfish little bit of chromosome"-dawkins
the amen break is a huge bit of chromosome, a forced meme,
standing in the way of memetic evolution.

it's a deeply funky piece of sound but i think it'd have to
be chopped up small and repurposed before i could listen to
a whole compilation. it'd be hard to find a new angle, which
is not to say we shouldn't try, but yeah. it's only so
ubiquitous cos it's so good and versatile i guess

If xltronic was still alive we could do an amen break
vibes.

Maybe we still could, there's enough of us for an EP.
