Here is an ablum of generative music stuff called beetle.
It's my third generative album this year (I think) and it's
the best one (I think).

Thanks dudes. I've ditched this algorithm now and am making
a new one from scratch which will compose in a different
style and be all sample based.

The one now treat all instruments independently, they do not
effect each other in terms of probability, like singular
channel strips. The new one will be a singular interweaving
mesh. Will be difficult but fun I think.

Do u basically push a button and the algorithms spit out
these songs, or u do hand editing too? They're interesting,
I like your hand edited ones a lot more, it's tricky to
automate music for me (especially melody) even though it
seems simple at first glance, humans do other things that
are simple at first glance but hard for computers like
recognizing faces (well not anymore china social credit
score). I keep putting it off because it'll be an
undertaking. It's almost like a really complex math problem
trying to "solve music" ie converting your human intuition
of melody etc into logical computer instructions. The
solution (or a solution, a good solution not a shit one)
might not even be that complex, but honing in on it takes a
lot of thinking for me. A single second of a wav file has a
whole ton of numbers so a song is a giant mount everest of
numbers so organizing the data in a non shit way is
paramount, you need to be able to easily do micro edits and
macro edits. It took forever to even understand formants,
since the whole internet is about people making "content"
for money I guess, it's 99% shit content so to even figure
that out takes a ton of weeding. I don't know how to extract
individual tones from a sound, but can probably build up
formants from scratch and have control that way. All it is
though I haven't tested yet is play a sin wav tone, now put
another that is 2x faster on top another 3x another 4x 5x
all the way to 10x so u r playing like 10 tones at the same
time with the slowest one being the "main one". but give
each a different volume. the unique volumes of each is the
"formant" not sure if that is the same as making it sound
like "violin" vs "harp". stuff like that is micro level but
u need to edit stuff at a macro level like the melody itself
etc. too.

I've been working on my sample based patch today. It's a bit
more 'guided' I guess? I threw some samples in and recorded
a couple of minutes.
