Indeed, every time they dive deep into the nature of their programming process, or the use of AI to generate music, they immediately follow it with a vivid analogy that not only clarifies what they're talking about but punctures any sense of over-seriousness about their processes. the art of explaining complex things is complex, and attempting to explain the art of explaining complex things is even moreso. a good trick, if you're one-on-on-one, is to get the other person to pick the metaphor rather than to pick a meta phor them. |

Autechre's music is made a fat linux nerd. He just found a couple of hunks to present a good public image but the hunks ended up being introverted so they never developed into a boy band as planned. |
