its a 15-inch-short fuckbook pro, hanal. so everything works
except the black screen of death. i read the nvidia card is
usually what goes. conviently right after applecare and
warranty runs out.

why not hook it up to a vga monitor?

they always have some type of out so company executives
can project powerpoint.

then you can see if it is your display thingy.

expensive, fyou did it yourself.

And 160gb hdd

Have you tried holding down 'R' on start up?

That forces a screen reset.

I dropped it off at the apple store, the genius took it from
me and said about 3-4 business days, turns out i had an
extended warranty after-all. It's probably a loose wire. I
tried removing the battery and rebooting the PRAM and w/e.

I can see it now. You end a conversation with your mother &
a few moments later an ad pops up for mums favorite perfume.
lol

this is a well known issue with the nvidia graphics cards
used in the portables.

my experiences

after having a grand total of 7 Apple devices (iBook, 3
PowerBook G4s, 1 Macbook Pro, and 2 iPod Touches) all die on
me through no fault of my own, i do not touch Apple
hardware.

I love my iMac but I am very leery of getting a Mac
notebook. There are too many complaints about build quality
and fragility. For my next portable I'm going to get another
Asus. My Z71V has lasted 5 years and the only problem is a
broken hinge that I still have to get sorted with some epoxy
putty.

Best thing about Mac is no audio problems. I have had
absolutely no issue with latency, crackling, popping or even
sound being interrupted by launching other programs. I will
miss the no-fuss audio if I get a PC notebook.

I couldn't see them using that in their technology. It has
something to do with their legal battles with google most
likely.

Strangely enough, apple and scientology both seem to like
pursue their rivals with massive lawsuits, regardless of how
small the issue is.

This has happened to so many people I know that I stay well
away from Mac stuff. I like the fact that if my PC has
issues I can go buy a new piece of kit, open the mafucker up
and get it working again immediately without spending
fuckloads of cash

I am the same way. The iMacs are built like tanks. I have a
glass-top desk and had tilted the whole computer forward to
reach one of the USB jacks on the back (stupid, I know), and
the slick metal case slipped on the desk and the whole
computer crashed down onto my keyboard in front of it. I
haven't had a single problem since this happened, even
though I was sure I would have cracked the screen or damaged
the hard drive or something. I've had the same experience
with the audio, too. When I used to use a PC with a USB-midi
interface, no matter what I tried (messing with buffer size,
etc) I could not get the latency low enough to make a
note-on instantaneous without crackles/distortion. On my
mac, I instantly get zero-latency without touching a single
setting and the audio quality is great.

yeah my MBPro is more than two years old now and i've been
milking the thing pretty hard, doing lots of try and error
things with code, for example fucking around with OpenGL
where i often had to hard-reset the machine when it froze.

It also took a lot of motion from carrying it around.

So no problems at all. Could use a thorough inside out
cleansing and the battery is pretty much done though.
It doesn't appear to be on the verge of breaking down at
all, and i sure hope it doesn't any time soon as i could not
afford sufficient replacement.

Only mac users would be stupid enough to think that the adds
are more enjoyable than the rest of the content.

"Its a fantastic revolution in computing... its an add that
pops up periodically as you are browsing the internet."

My job consists of turning on a computer in the morning then
sitting at a desk for 9 hours a day acting like I'm doing
anything with it. Would I get more money if it was a Mac
rather than a PC running XP? What would I get for running
some command line Linus shit? Ideally the more complicated
it looked on the screen, the more complicated I could make
out it was to do simple tasks like, check email. Maybe if I
get an iPad I can do nothing more stylishly whilst
downloading apps. Apps. Apps. I can't say the word Apps
enough, no matter how often other people say "apps"
