Could a lyrically rhythmic based popular music like Hip Hop have been foreseen before its inception?
Can you guess the next popular music genre?

A fusion of riverdance and linedance, labeled riverline or river & line or just ri-li. It will have very little lyrics, just crazyfrog-esque babel topped with occasional shouting of the title of the song. We can only hope for V/vm-like chop-ups...

I think a genre of non-music will come about!
Perhaps just people dancing to music in there own heads! a system of nodding and winking will let the audience become aware of poignant moments!
Only god knows how we distribute/sell this new musical commodity!
Its all a bit John cage really!

my mate played me something called 'funky' today which apparently what the kids are in to now. It's a mix of dubstep and house but really its just house with some dubstep sound effects and vocal lines drenched in reverb and echo. It's pretty shit.
I started a genre this evening called Goosestep. It's ultra militant anti-semitic dubstep with bird noises sampled in every track.

Strangely,I think it was someone from here who started the musical genre of Doorstep, which just involves samples of himself playing with his knob.

American IDM with pop singing, like Britney Spears Toxic but more glitchy and with electric guitar style synths to match today's youth hard attitude because life is so hard for them.

I foresee songs in the style of John Dowland accompanied by string quartet emulated by electronic devices in a very lush way. No guitars, no drums. Cellos and thicker stringed instruments create abrasive rhythm.
Popular music turns toward more sophistication leading to a rebirth of Art Music.
