overhyped piece of shit
inexplicably popular
no reason for his success
he's most nearly always wrong about everything and he's
consistently a nasty dickhead too
fuck charlie brooker

satire

the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in
exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc.

charlie brooker *is* the vice, folly, etc
he should attack himself for being an overhyped liberal
media studies piece of shit

newswipe is one of the best things on tv.

not only is he funny but he provides a sharp critique on how
the news is reported. Whether you like him or not Newswipe
is essential viewing for anyone with an interest in The
News.
Plus, it's not just his opinions - there's always a guest
slot which is usually incredibly insightful in my opinion.

yes, and the guests are usually well informed knowledge of a
specialist subject (e.g. adam curtis, ben goldacre) rather
than just some twatty talking head, i.e. barry shitpeas

I only just saw the full episode this evening on iPlayer and
I'm heartened to see that particular clip singled out. It's
so perfectly realised, pitched so precisely that if you
weren't really paying attention you'd take it as "news...
it's just news
". There's something very life affirming
about brilliant, peerless, intelligent and savage satire.

But he's so overhyped and he's most nearly always
wrong about everything
. It's why they put him on BBC
Seventy-Two, he's so hyped.

If you take cwnt's outburst and swap the name "Charlie
Brooker" with "Wisp" it makes more sense.

All that needs to happen now is a Flashbulb/Wisp split album
and I stop listening to music.

It'd be nice if Charlie Brooker turned out to be The Tuss.

Steinvordhosbn, you strike me as a more of a Sean Lock type
of guy. What do you think about 15 Storeys High?

haha oh dear thats an awful thing to say. sean lock is a
bitter and twisted man that i laugh at out of sympathy. dan
bless him is more caustic and far more funny and
intelligent. and i miss him!.

I think that's Lock's very well executed stage persona. He
probably has this acrid side to him and he's far too
intelligent to not exploit it for comedic effect. Actually,
out of all the British comedians I know Lock seems to be the
only one who writes most of his material. It's just so
consistent and believable, often not the case with Mitchell
for example (IMO).

So, now that you know what I think of Lock, my previous post
doesn't seem so awful, does it?
