dont know on console, but on PC mass effect sucked. But I feel it is good game. So console owners can rly enjoy this art.

The game worked fine on my computer... but I found it boring nonetheless.. Beautiful imagery, but gameplay that's old-hat after a few hours.

Looks nice but that clip with the music is rather corny.

I could pre-order it for one euro plus 2 games at gamestop, but since I skipped the first game, I'm hesitant about it, since I don't want to jump into a sequel, especially when that game is a role playing game with a story to develop.

Apparently they are using the same engine for mass effect 2 as they did for dragon age. Thats a good thing.

i never really played through the first game. i expected an open-ended game, but found it extremely linear.
is there any point in trying the sequel? do i need to finish the first one? is it just as linear?
so many questions.

yes, as soon as i got to the bit on the navigation with the lush tangerine dream esque music i thought, wowee freedom planets exploration etc. but alas no. overall it felt more action arcade than RPG.

Been playing this for a couple days, now. Highly recommended. Kind of mis sandboxesque exploration, but it was a sacrifice that they needed to make for an overall superior game.

this is, I think, the best game I've ever played. Being a paper rpg player for years, I really feel I'm playing a real RPG here, and the fact that you actually meet people from the first one, but in a whole new context really adds to the immersion. that's just great, great dialogues, great story, great combat: you have to play it.
If you haven't done the first yet, do it, and then enjoy this one, which is at least 2x better.

best game ever. best sci-fi story ever. best writing in a video game ever. great combat. some of the loyalty missions are boring. retarded A.I.
as was true in mass effect 1 - any fully upgraded weapon is hilariously accurate at long range, including the shotgun. little weird if u ask me
i dont want to play anything else for a long time. pretty sure i will do at least 3 playthroughs...
