swim says ........

don't use a cracked os on the net.

use ubuntu opera or firefox on the net.
and your very naughty crack on a separate machine or
partition.

yes you are very naughty to even begin to think of doing
this type of activity.

just read the torrent comments. read them all. don't get any
torrents without any comments at all. make sure there are
instructions somewhere in the torent. if it's a text file,
download that first and read it.

i don't know if seeders can mess up a torrent after it's
initial upload. they can send you bad packets which cause
hash fails but this is just a small nuisance. i've never
heard of a clean torrent "going bad" over time.

peerblock is a good lightweight firewall that
frequently updates IP blacklists for companies, etc. I use
it when downloading p2p, but who knows how much difference
it really makes.

just read the comments and you should be fine.

You could update your version of vista with the latest
service pack. That won't make it not vista, but its
certainly a step up from when stock vista.

And, like any other windows operating system, bloaty
features of vista can be turned off. You just need to read
some online documentation and play around in the settings
menu's a bit.

Really, vista is not nearly as bad as the mac commercials
will have you believe.

you might still be able to upgrade your old vista, you'd
just have to reinstall that first. there's likely a serial
number for it on the bottom of your lappy or in the
documentation, and you'd just use that again while
reinstalling.

but yeah i would just torrent that puppy. you already
basically overpaid for vista, which is a clunky system hog
that never should have been released since windows 7 was
already in development.

if your laptop has the drivers for it i would say to forget
win7 altogether and get yourself one of the custom flavors
of xp thats out on torrent sites. i've been using xp - black
edition as a secondary os on my macbook and it's pretty
great. xp has been around for so long that it's stable as
all get out, and the flavors come with even more crap
stripped out, and lots of custom registry tweaks and fixes
"out of the box."

of course, make sure you can get xp drivers for your laptop
- i had a gateway which didn't have any and had to revert to
tinyvista (another nice hacked flavor).

sounds like you need to save up some money and buy an apple
computer instead. that way you won't waste so much time with
stupid little kid problems.

I love it when idiots think the best way to solve a problem
is to throw an extra thousand dollars at it instead of
playing with the settings for 20 minutes.

They keep an inflated economy afloat. They keep my standard
of living high. Thank you.
