Track selection on album

I kind of want to put all sorts of different tracks on my
album as I feel it will keep it diverse and interesting.
But I am being told by several people it's better to have a
more unified sound and concept throughout the album.

But if I choose one, I won't be able to show all the other
tracks I made that don't fit.
Do you think it's generally a good thing to have completely
separate genres on an album together?

i love ween and they have really diverse albums
but i also love albums that are kind of the same
i think you should look in your heart and follow that

It depends on what you want your audience to feel. Do you
want them to feel that Coax can flip from Alien abstract to
Bionic glitchcore and back to another load of random
bollocks? Or do you want to share something that you feel
works well as an album.

Have a 42 minute epic chronicling the rise and fall of a
sine wave.

I'd listen to shepard tones but it makes me want to go for
a piss.

Oh god, it's like being in one of my Sonic Arts lectures.

I was thinking more of a single 42-minute inaudible sine, in
which for the first 21 minutes - cx goes "Weee!" and the
next, he goes "Wooo!"
