how do you make the bass drum thump so hard in your minimal
techno trax?

Heh, well it's the usual suspects I guess. Sometimes ducking
compression/sidechain on some other instruments and some
multi band compression on the master mix just to tighten the
right frequencies.

Dunno who you are or if you've heard this, but this is more
or less the lastest track with a thumping BD I've done :p

thump thump

thx

this is the hypnotising track cwnt was on about:
1 - Jørgen Indal - Attentive

is it just a basic compressor, no special weird valve thing
or anything? never tried any compressors
before.........................

anyway this track is the shit
love it

Ah right, I think I stacked two kicks in that one. One with
a long release and one really short punchy one. Then I
compressed them on the same bus, you can hear the tail of
the long kick breathe with the AR in the background to the
left.

may i ask, how much compression would you normally use on a
track? just the bass or bd, or the whole track, or just
drums or ...?

safe
