"A Stairway To The Stars" is the second release by "The Caretaker" and follows a darker path than its predecessor "The Haunted Ballroom". This release has already become a firm favourite with many people who cite The Caretaker's work as being the most beautiful audio released on V/Vm Test. Again it's recieved critical acclaim from many including the NME and surprisingly John Peel. "A Stairway To The Stars" aches with emotion from a bygone era, as stated previously this time around the memories seem darker and more troubled. Despite this there are moments of extreme beauty to be found here, especially in the otherworldy, "Emptiness". One to play as piped music in big old hotels!
