TRACKLIST?????

Oh my, this is really ace, the return of Skam’s beloved and totally dope style afficianado’s Alder and Elius! Brought to us courtesy of the excellent Consumers Label following their highly acclaimed release of String Theory’s (Smak / Skam) ‘Anhedonia’ album, this surprise limited 10” drops and shows a side of A+E that’s previously only been hinted at. ‘Something Snappy’ starts off proceedings and clearly states intent : a rigid electro beat snaps out, before the stuttered refrain of ‘Party People’ slips in and a miami booty vibe takes over! The keys and progressions still retain that dark, industrial clink that Alder and Elius have always excelled at, but the vibe is set to party! ‘Lets Begin Now’ unfolds with a lo-fi, distorted big-band loop that chops itself up into a hiccup groove, beats and synths eventually dropping in to create a New Wave pastiche that flows with the required amount of abnormality. ‘Albino Love’ on the flip, meanwhile, dictates a new set of rules that piece together elements and influences drawn from The Art of Noise, Autechre, Italian post-electro and a jumble of vocal cutups, melancholy synths and a padded 4/4 beat. Totally individual territory from Justin and Jessika once again, pieced together for your pleasure on a limited edition transparent 10” slab of acetate. Wicked.
